I rest my case.......btw, I love riding XB's too..... almost as much as real Buells 8-)

:o :o :o OMG :yup: :4roz:

You see this is why I get so pissed with this place sometimes.......read everything I wrote above.......I have issues with the XB range because I spanner them for a living and know them better than most but never once have I said anywhere, that I dont appreciate the great fun they are to ride

Probably put 30,000 miles on tubers, 40,000 miles on fuellers and 10,000 miles on Helicons and I've had a lot more problems on tubers than any of the others. Doesn't mean I don't love them as well though. If I could only own one bike it would have to be my White Lightning but if it was a practical bike for all reasons it would have to be the Ulysses 8-)

I think it is because you have never said that they are fun to ride...you always seem to just make negative comments about how shit they are, build-wise, etc. etc. It is always good to make sure people appreciate the positives, even if there are negatives to every bike.. It gives a balanced view. I can't say I have ever seen you say before that you actually enjoy riding XB's, so this is a first for me. I like it, it makes me feel good, it makes me feel glad that you do appreciate something of what I feel for my bike. :D :4roz:

Shame you're not a bit taller Jill, then you could experience the truely religious joy of riding a proper Buell

You know, Maz, that is the only regret in my life. I would love to own a White Lightning....maybe if I were more confident, I would ride one wearing 6" high heels..... I LOVE the look of those bikes...... :sad1:

In my experience my XB12ss was considerably taller than my S1W is. I don't know if this is because the seat on the XB was much more cushioned, and also much wider, whereas on the S1 its about as padded as a house brick.
In 6000 miles my XB was 100% reliable, cheap to run, and about the best bike I have ever owned. In comparison, in 800 miles my S1 has been rather expensive and somewhat unreliable! I have had 4 or 5 issues with it, when it has refused to start or run properly. In fairness, the problem has always been very minor, and easily rectified. I always said that 3 strikes, and it was going to be history, but I walk in to the garage, look at it, and decide its got one more chance! :D The difference for me is the looks. I always thought the XB was a great looking bike, but the S1 is just sublime. And as long as Maz is around to spanner it, its a keeper. :eat:

Hell....I can't believe this, there must be thousands of XB12's out there.
Just when I try to buy one they are all being snapped up like no ones biz!
What's going on and were are all these bikes going?
HELP!!!!

Save your money and buy a bike with a proper engine.

Get yourself an 1125. They go better than XB's, they don't break everytime you want to ride them like XB's, and servicing costs are cheaper than XB's, there are plenty about with very low miles for very little money because Jerry doesn't like them.

Cannot beat the prices offered by the german buyers so why let the dealers here have them? If we are honest although we might love the xb and other models we know they do not sell well except to the enlightened.

It's 8 months since I sold mine and I still sorely miss it. I now ride a ducati amongst other things because I gave up on finding a nice tuber for the money I wanted to pay. One day I will find something to suit.

Enjoy what you ride.

From a personal point of view my XB12s has been totally reliable in the year I've had it.
Now if I could only get the thing to handle....

Check out the BMW GSer forum if you want to know about bikes that have problems

Something's wrong then, it should handle brilliantly straight out of the box :o
