1125

I blatted both the R and CR, I preferred the R, around Castle Coombe on a Buell Performance day a few years back.
Terrificly quick and a great handling piece of kit.

I have tracked my Firebolt. Good fun and a very rewarding ride but my knees are not long to drag them on the tarmac.

Track days are not meant to be races, if they were you would lose every time on an air cooled Buell.

I know, I just run for fun and getting an unconventional bike in the mix takes the pressure off, hence the current bandit....

I've done 20 plus track days on my XB12R (I've lost count). No reliablity issues whatsoever. I've put slightly lower Rethal bars on, but that's about it. I'm not usually even the slowest bike on the track :P

Bike has now done about 22,00 miles, almost entirely short daily commute and track days, and mostly at >40 degrees air temperature :P I'd certainly recommend it, as long as you just want to have fun, and not try to beat the opposition.

I change the oil regularly. I've had the forks rebuilt, and I'm on my 3rd set of head bearings, and 2nd front isolator. Just normal wear and tear stuff really.

Cheers bonzo, just what I wanted to hear.
Not looking to rip up the opposition, as long i'm still having to slow for the corners I'm happy. Only issue with the xbr is that I need to be more upright as I'm now done with crouching and having to look 'up' through the visor. :?

Just wait for the man the f**k up posts to start coming in now.
You can get a flat bar conversion for the XBR. Someone did have one on here.

Corners are my biggest problem now. Noobies on fast bikes start braking for the corners way before I have to (because they're going faster than me, not because I'm a late braking god lOl ), I can't get past them so I have brake behind them, losing all my momentum. I like it when either I have an empty track, or everyone else is an expert.

Geordie Mick, who doesn't post much these days, also did a lot of track days on his XB, which I think was a Useless :P

When you can handle those 140 hp's a 1125 cr with higher bars would be my choice.

80.000 km and some trackday's killed my xb12,

so now i take my Firebolt along, higher bars to be fitted,

I have one of these fitted to my bolt'

It brings the bars back and up a tad, which means no need for longer cables etc.
It makes enough of a difference for me.

Bought from these guys http://www.helibars.com/ though I'm not sure they offer Buell bits anymore.

It might be worth giving them a bell. They might have one gathering dust somewhere.

You could also give Tubbs a try at http://www.moorespeedracing.com/

or maybe drop a PM to Spondon440 who might be able to help you out.
