My M1 has Maxton tuned S1 forks. They were sent away to Maxton for race tuning, whilst they are perfect for fast road riding, The spring is too stiff for my riding style, im a plodder not a racer and want something I can make softer.

Does anyone have a set of X1 shocks they would like to do an exchange for ...? must be in as perfect condition as possible :)

Ta :)

Sure thing, Don. When the weather perks up we can do a bike swap and have a ride :)

Ash, much as I love my X1, the std forks really aren't the best thing about it (imho the M2 had the best forks ;) lOl ) Have a go on Dons bike and I'm sure you'll keep the Maxtons lOl

I am sure Adam is right. I have Beef's old Maxton S1 forks which are open to offers :D

Phone up Maxton and see how much the revalving / springing would cost ....

The original M2 forks were rubbish TBH
I have no idea what X1's are like - I know that the Showas are meant to have more adjustability than WPs ( you have WPs)

X1 Showas with the right oil are as good as it gets IMO.

Re sprung and oiled ;) so I'll agree, they aren't too bad lOl
In their defence, they don't have the pronounced stiction that I've felt on some more upmarket Ohlins forks :?

What oil is the best? Weight and amount/air gap?

Depends on your weight and riding style......there is no fixed formula, getting suspension set up right is more down to experience ie. good communication/feed back from the customer etc......I pride myself on being a pretty good judge of what a customer needs by weighing them and looking at how their tyres have been used :)
