are you sure it's not the battery ?
IF it 's the starter they are rebuildable .

Be amazed if the starter is faulty....in 20 years of spannering Buells I've only ever had to replace one starter ! |

Just put brand new battery on it Just clicks and pops the fuse |

Ok well I have powered the starter direct the solenoid Clicks but the main motor doesn’t turn So does anyone have a starter or should I pull it and try repairing it |

Remove the 3 screws from the solenoid cover, pull the plunger and clean the contactors..... don't forget to disconnect the battery earth ! Presume you've tried putting the bike in 5th and rocking the engine over ? |

Hi Maz Yes I tried the rocking thing to no joy Tomorrow I will try what you suggest above It’s been sitting un started since November |

as  said "Presume you've tried putting the bike in 5th and rocking the engine over ?"I know it’s a bit of a pain when on compression but does the engine turn over ok ? if it turns over ok , I have had same sort of fault on mine , and it was neutral light not working properly and not supplying a good earth to starter solenoid , pull in clutch leaver , solenoid gets a good earth now it starts ok ( note to self must change neutral light switch ) |

So had the back off it Freed it up and now it turns runs But.... my starter sounds like a bag of old bolts If someone has a spare I will swap mine out if not I’m going to have to try and Repair mine Thanks for all the help Maz was spot on as always |
