The time has come for me to get back on a Buell, preferably an XB12X in good nic with low miles. I had a look and test ride on a nice black XB12X '57 reg with Buell panniers and low seat fitted. Bike has 13K on the clock, good condition but not mint, from a non H-D/Buell dealer asking £4400. I'd be happier at £4K, although dealer will fit new rear tyre and 'd want front replacing too. Any thoughts on whether this sounds like a fair price and what the best tyres to fit are (Pirelli Scorpion Syncs?) would be welcome. Also if anyone knows of a similar but better Uly (i.e. lower miles, mint, lower price etc.) going I'd be glad to hear. Cheers MKCyclone |

I like the Scorpion Syncs - they are fitted to my STT. Done 4,000 miles and the back still has lots of tread left - about another 3,000 I reckon. Worn them right to the edge and have yet to have the bike lose grip on me in a corner on the road. They still slide around a bit on gravel though, but I suppose that's a given. I don't ride on the track so can't say how they'd fair there. They get a good write up in this track review though: http://www.trackdaymag.com/Articles/Bue ... asure.aspx |

Yeah, know. Different types of fun but similar prices (£4500ish). |

Decided to go for the Uly. Got a further £200 off the asking price plus a new pair of Scorpion Syncs included. It's good to be back! ![]() |
