Front Disc for XB Ully 2006. Must be in tip top nick, no pitting or warping.

Is yours "warped"?

Clean with with steel wool and brake cleaner then use some proper pads like Braking or EBC.

It has less than 0.012'' run out but is badly pitted.

If your disc is truely warped, i.e. it has changed shape, then cleaning it and changing pads is not going to work, however most XBs, especially with earlier stock pads, end up suffering from pad material depositing itself on the disc causing a once-per-rev grabbing.

The important thing is to junk the pads at this stage and fit EBC or Braking, cos if you only clean the disc the pads will grab again.

As for cleaning, you can do it how it suits you, but it is important to get the disc surface wet with the brake cleaner. You could put an elastic band on the brake lever and spin the wheel around spraying brake cleaner onto the disc and letting the pads do the cleaning.
