Doing a bit of work on a '79 R80GS at the moment.
The owner has just bought it from a chap who had ridden it to Peking and back. It's last oil change was done in Kazakhstan, apparantly.

I never liked 'em back in the day, but now I'm realising what a nice bit of kit they are.

Think I have meet the former owner on it in Bristol about a month ago. Although he talked about going to Northern India on it perhaps there are two well travelled R80GS in this part of the world?

Have two 800's, a R80/7 form '78 and a R80RT from '82 - agricultural but reliable - might do some angle grinding on the '82 one and see what happens.
Eric.

If you really want to keep it, I can put you in contact with someone who will either have or know where to get bits for it......If you don`t want to keep it, we need to talk.
