yes they do, 64bit versions work in 64bit environments, the only difference is how the compatible cpu handles the data (more efficiently). Most 32bit programs will work with the exception of a few anti virus programs and a few hardware drivers.
W7 32bit is only able to see a max of 4Gb of physical memory (w7 home basic, W7 starter is just 2gb)- where as 64 bit is able to process up to 192Gb of physical memory on the W7 pro edition and upwards. But being an IT professional, you probably know that
