I get autmatically logged out after a short time on the new board even after ticking the box for keeping me logged in. The FAQ section say that deleting 'board cookies' might stop this happening. How do I do this? Simple answers please, I have Special Needs when it comes to pooters :lol:

On the top bar of your screen you should have a button that says tools
Click TOOLS
A drop down menu should be displayed
The bottom option should be internet options
Click Internet Options Anew window should open
In that window are various options but the simplest is browsing history
Click Delete in browsing history then OK or apply.

See how that works-if that doesnt do it or the problem returns after a while speak to someone else :) :!:

What browser are you using? If you are that much of a muppet, you're probably still on Internet Explorer, so it's Tools > Options then, on the General Tab, there's a "Browsing History" section with a "delete" button. One of the options on the next box is to delete cookies.

Note, though, that doing it this way will lose all of your cookies. Amazon will forget who you are, as will Ann Summers, Slippers'R'Us and the S&M With Goats forums.

If neither of the above, not Garry's suggestion, work, then click on "Help" then "About Whatever Browser You Are Using" and let us know what version of what browser as older ones have slightly different needs.

Plan C is just to delete the UKBEG cookies. For that, I'll need to know what Operating System (Windows, Linux, Max etc) you are using and what version (XP, Vista, Windoze7 etc).

Just click the delete all forum cookies button :)

Although I did try to set it up so that it does log you our after a certain time for added security, works for some not others

Nope, none of the above clearing (site+browser) clearing of cookies seems to have worked. Any other (easy ;) :D ) suggestions :?:

Are you sure that you cleared all of your cookies? Have you had to re-enter your details on any other sites you regularly visit?

AOL + Vista. Old site and a few others seemed happy with it :? Had to re-enter details to BadWeb etc.

You still haven't said what browser. If you are using the AOL (why anyone would go for an ISP call America On Line when they are in Europe defeats me) browser, then try a different one.

In fact, my best suggestion is to change your ISP (please, FFS, change your ISP!) and...

I thought AOL was a browser :? , ie something you browse the net on? Only interested in easy answers please. Everything else seems to work fine with the kit being used, as it has done since I've got it :?

Suppose the same argument about using AOL could be used for owning American bikes :?

Well, AOL is an ISP which also provides a browser. However, the AOL "browser" is screwed up because it doesn't use common 'net protocols and standards. Hence all the frustrations that arise because stuff that works on normal browsers (Firefox, Opera, even Internet Explorer is becoming standards compliant) doesn't work on AOL.

That and the fact that your computer is locked down and owned by the AOL software are just a couple of the reasons that many despise AOL.

The few similarities I see between America online and Buell are all, sadly, about their deficiencies and inabilities.

If you are using AOL, however, that is possibly why the aforementioned cookie deleters didn't do the trick. You could try uninstalling AOL then reinstalling it. Although memories of trying to delete AOL bring me out in a cold sweat.

I don't know if you can use a different browser if AOL is your provider.

I was going to type 'You can'. I'll amend that to 'You always used to be able to'.

The only reason for that is that I've only rarely needed to try a different browser because something won't intrerface with the AOL browser. IE6 seems to still work.
