it seems that I cannot use my Googlemail (gmail.com) address in my profile. I am hence being forced to use my work e-mail in my profile which I'd like to avoid. Is it possible to allow the use of gmail e-mail addresses?

I added Gmail to the banned list for a while after we got a spate of Russian spam using the Gmail emails .. I can take it off again but if we start getting plagued by them again, it will go back on ...

Is the blacklist only checked during registration? Can you register with a legit address and then change it in the settings to a gmail one?

Are googlemail and gmail both banned? I have a googlemail.com address (as gmail isn't allowed in the UK due to an existing copyright holder) but I can receive email sent to me at gmail.com with the same account. Don't know if that works the other way.

Otherwise don't be such a tight get and get a domain name that forwards on to your free account. That's what I do. Only £3 a year.

Even better, just use yahoo or the one your ISP gave you
