It can be argued that, if you get the vaccination program done, it doesn't really matter so much what else you screw up on... only the nutters (not you Don) doubt that vaccination is the way out of this.
I'm extremely grateful... and proud... to be a double jabbed Englishman, supreme effort from all involved, let's not forget it.
Nor forget what a bloody hash the EU made of theirs through their own ridiculous inertia, then excessive bureaucracy, compounded by jealousy, spite, and spreading of misinformation that completely backfired on their own subjects. Shame on them.
But I am shocked at how badly Oz has done.

One of the problems (amongst many) is Astra Zeneca of which there are good supplies of here. Because Oz has done really well (mostly) at keeping Covid out by putting up a wall, particularly WA, almost no-one has had Covid. I don't know anyone over here who has had it. Unfortunately this means that you are currently more likely to die from taking AZ than you are from Covid. If there's one thing Aussies do know about it's gambling odds, so no-one wants to take it.

Vaccination is one method ,as is quarantine / lockdown and mask wearing in public congested places to reduce the infection rate to a manageable level for the health service .
After all, the vaccine isn’t 100% effective for all people. We still got “double jabbed” people going into hospital with covid.
most of the vaccines have had side-effects of one sort or another, personally in my situation with an underlying blood clotting disorder I have not had the jab , I know the needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few , and can even understand the current easing of restriction in England , most of the at risk have been offered and have had both jabs and those that are left the young, are less likely to become seriously ill .
Summers here, so follow government advice and get out in the fresh air and get a few miles in on them bikes :yup:

2 years ago today it all (officially) kicked off.

In my area (West Wales) the infection rates are seeing a marked increase with more Covid patients in hospitals. My neighbour, in my age group, fully vaccinated, and like a lot of us, tried to be careful has just been diagnosed. :sad1:

and apparently its rife in schools, lots of kids and staff off .
Hopefully now the warmer weather is coming, infection rates will slow down again like last year, then it’s isolate for winter time again.
Personally due to a couple of underlying health problem that tend to complicate things , I am unvaccinated , I live on my own and work on my own (HGV driver) and have been ok , but never did like crowds and I do ride a Buell so that probably helped .

And they are the educated ones and are supposed to know what they are doing.

I’ve been waiting to see hospital consultant to get signed up for some surgery , been almost two years since problem identified, almost a year since specialist nurse recommended laser surgery , but consultant keeps cancelling and re-scheduling appointments, latest is now a telephone consultation 16th may ,and this I believe is just to get on "the list" for surgery . :headbang:

I now know I had Covid at the beginning of January 2020 as I`ve got it again only milder. Same symptoms. Thought it was the cold from the mrs but she tested negative. My throat swab showed a very faint positive and a nasal swab went straight to positive. :ill:

Just got the registration for the buell built from parts taxed and insured and it`s raining....

Bugger...

That was me shopping for spares! lOl

I had Covid a couple of weeks ago; a bit of a head cold for a few days then weak and wobbly for another week. :ill: I checked with my agency if it was ok to work and the reply was; “yes just carry on working as normal if you feel able”. No one seems to care much now!
