In the past I have left my old one with the shop I bought my new one from, however this time round my new helmet was part of an insurance payout and I had a new one, along with clothing, as part of a walk in visit.

I can't imagine sticking it in the wheelie bin is the right thing to do clogging up a landfill someplace.

What's the legal, safest, whatever, way of disposing of a helmet?

No shed. No garden. No garage.
And the spiders already found a home...mine! :-)
Still they're welcome. Better the spider than the fly, however I just wish they would clean up their webs when they're finished with them. Hate getting up on chairs to cleaned the top part of the wall.

If it's got the D ring fastening, cut the straps off and send them to me please. Always useful for ice axe leashes, crampon straps etc :yup:

Then set fire to the rest, they burn a treat 8-)

Had to send my old one back to insurance company before they'd give me a pay out. I wish I could have kept it, would be a good reminder not to ride like such a knob. Also a good reminder why to wear a full face

If any of you guys and gals have any old lids laying about taking up space then you may be able to help us out.

I am working on the idea of helmet wraps and 'fit yourself' graphics, and I could do with as many different shaped lids for R&D purposes

Whether they are old, new and crashed, whatever condition.

They are not for wearing, and the straps will be removed, they are most likely to get wrecked during the development process, and you will not get them back....So don't offer up your brand new one

If you can help please get in touch

PM, email or call me.

Cheers

Gray

Give it to the Fire Brigade. They use old ones for practice cutting them off dummies for crash situations ...
