I was coerced into doing this because I was bidding on an internal puller on ebay and it eventually went for £2 more than the "buy it now" price from the same seller! How thick are some people! Anyway, I made a circlip from 1/8" dia brazing rod that just fit the ID of the bearing and when it was pushed through to the back of the bearing it expanded into the space formed by the radius of the corner of the inner race and the internal chamfer of the spacer tube. Then I selected a socket with the same od as the id of the bearing and a slightly reduced diameter at the front the same od as the id of the expanded circlip. I drove the shoulder of the socket against the circlip and this drove the bearing out of the wheel by about 3/16" befor the circlip expanded into the (now) space between the bearing and the spacer tube. Then I removed the circlip and replaced it with a small rectangular piece of mild steel which I was able to fit and hold behind the inner race with a small magnet and I hammered the socket against that until the bearing popped out! Can't see the piccies as I'm at work at the mo but I think I get it from the description. Although I haven't tried it on a Buell, I have used a Rawlbolt in the past to remove wheel bearings from other bikes. Would this work on a Buell? |

Yes probably, but they are quite soft steel so may bend. My blind bearing extractor is basicly a Rawlbolt, but made from hard steel. Deffo worth a try
