Recently bought some bar end mirrors from Hong Kong. They are a decent enough quality, except for the internal expanding hardware which is flimsy and not up to the job.
The attached photos show my cheap fix. The Loxin anchor takes the M6 bolt which came with the mirrors, the two different sized PVC tubes (10mm and 13mm) form a sleeve over the Loxin. A bit of dishwashing detergent was used to lubricate as it is a tight fit inside the handlebar. The cost is in Australian dollars, probably about 3 to 4 quid in the UK.

I had to do a similar 'mod' when the star fangled nut (any cyclists will understand) failed inside my early firebolt swingarm pivot shaft.....later ones had a proper thread machined inside.

Never liked star fangled nuts and that was one of the main features of my choice of Cannondale bikes...sealed cartridge bearings for steering and 88 needle bearings for the smoothest suspension :-)

Hmmm not sure I agree about the needle rollers.........My Lefty took no end of expensive servicing to keep it right (looked cool however), the Fatty coped much better with the roller bearing plates nicely tucked away near/inside the headstock though.

Fits fits inside a bicycle fork steerer to allow a threadless headset to be preloaded......you did ask!

I had and still have a Fatty, obviously! Still in pretty well perfect nick almost 11 years after I last rode her and 18 years since I bought her. Beautiful bike, though only the frame and forks are original now.
