I have read the workshop manual, looked at the parts manual, spoken to friends ... result - this simple job on any other bike seems to be a pain in the arse, you have to spread the frame and need at least 2 of you. Anyone here done this many times and got it down pat? I would appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks |

Thanks for all the comments. The bike is in wiltshire, near marlborough. Funnily enough when the belt went I got it recovered by the RAC and the driver has 2 buells [1 S1 m 1 later - you on here?] My understanding was that harley came out with a tool to open up the frame - which was crap anyway - though I was assured the frame springs back. Anyway -if I dont have to do that it sounds better already - |

I am no S1 belt expert (although I have changed one and it was a PITA) |

If you look at the frame in that area for more than 2 seconds, you'll understand what Maz says. |
