Hi all - picked it up from Shaw's in Lewes last Saturday and Lester said 'be careful on the tyres - we always say "drive like its wet" when its dry....so with the road being a bit damp...! First bike and years and what a monster! Stopped at Teddington services on the M1 to warm up and bumped into a friendly bloke guy in Buell leathers (hi if you're reading this) who told me about this forum. Discovered Northants V twin on Thurs for an early service - what a great place! Every day i'm watching the weather to see if its dry enough to make it worth warming the beast up but its not looking good early this week...

See y'all.

Welcome Nexus, I got my CR from Shaws in November. Good bunch of folks to deal with. Have only managed to ride it twice tho as have been offshore since
Just out of interest, how did you discover the bike? You say you hadn't heard of UKBEG before (amazingly plenty of long term owners haven't either), was it thru the Performance academy or just press advertising.
Hope you enjoy the experience, loads of top Viz type tips on here and as you've already discovered I expect plenty of Buell branded riders out there with the new discount leathers, T shirts, helmets etc :oooops: :oooops: :oooops:
If you get a chance pop in to the Cabin fever meet at the National Motorcycle museum in Brum on 27th Dec to meet a few. Must be close to you as it's up North somewhere. :D

Welcome. :D
I've also got an 1125CR and only managed to get out on it once.
I was hoping to get it on it at the weekend but it's been freezing here and the gritters have been out in force.

I was deciding what bike to buy and a mate at work who's a Buell rider had had a test ride on a cr and said it was awesome. I'd been looking at CBRs, GXrs, then RSV factorys, etc. so i thought i'd ring a dealer to find to what the dfference was between an r and a cr. My local dealer was closed so i rang the next one that came up on google and ended talking to Shaws. After Lester'd explained the gearing and fairing differences he said 'and at this price an absolute bargain!' Well i couldn't disagree and put my deposit down a couple of days later! I've always been partial to v-twins - my last bike was a Guzzi t3 850 - so i knew it was the way to go.

Its such a torque monster - even running in its such fun! Can't wait to get onto a dry road to lean it over a bit! I'm so hooked I'm even thinking wet roads are better than nothing! But salty roads....its gonna be a log winter!
