Hi there, New here - just found the site because I'm selling my Buell XB9S. It's too powerful for me and I'm too sensible for it. I will put a post up in the for sale section when I've got the pictures taken later. Kate |

Hello Kate, that is a shame, we need more lady Buellers, not less. You do know that the throttle doesn't HAVE to wound fully open for the bike to work? A quarter or half open will be fine. |

What Steve says, the throttle works both ways. Unless you really need the money from the sale (which isn't your stated reason for selling) why not go on a training course where you will learn to ride your bike correctly and under supervision? I've been riding for over 40 years and found the IAM course I did 15 years ago worthwhile. Everyday's a school day |

I'm sorry I do love my bike - It's beautiful and shiny and makes people crap themselves when it goes past. I am looking for something with a lower center of gravity - it's only my third bike since passing and I don't get to go much as I have three kids. I found this bike really wants to be thrown around and wants to devour the streets but I am far too sensible and wary to ride it like Thor would. I can't let it become an ornament - someone with more guts can take her and let her be all she can be. Kate |

Don't give in Kate. Read what Adam says. Worst case would be to sell and buy a Blast. But I wouldn't really like to see you do that. I'm sure we can keep you on the XB in someway if you're determined. |

Hi Kate, I am a 5'3" female who rides an XB12. I am a cautious rider but LOVE my bike. As Adam says, the throttle is controlled by you and you need to ride the way you enjoy riding. Don't feel pressured to ride outside your capabilities. Btw I also have a Buell Blast, and although all the guys slate it, if it hadn't been for that hike I wouldn't be riding now.....and I throw it around far more than I do the XB...lol |

Hi there , shame your selling the bike , but agree with Jill , I'm only 5ft 2 and I ride the xb12 and I also ride a Ducati 848 streetfighter now that's a hooligan bike but if you think you will feel a bit more confident on a smaller bike then your doing the right thing , good luck with the sale . |

Interesting you should mention 'low centre of gravity' - my understanding is that the low centre of gravity is what Buell is all about. XB9's are rarer than rocking horse poo and are great bikes. Some will argue that tubers are better in almost ever way. But as someone who has had two XB's and now has an X1 in the garage - the XB's were brilliant fun and rode much better than the tuber. My two pennies worth; keep it and get some instruction, you'll not regret it. |

I said 'were' because I no longer have one in the garage. Whilst I enjoy the X1, I'm finding it hard to trust its reliability- I know, I should, but I can't. |

Hi Kate your profile doesn't say what part of the country you live in. I am in the south in Portsmouth, Hampshire, so if you are local we could always meet up?? |
