Hi, just thought I'd introduce myself. I've recently bought a 2001 M2 Cylone, my first Buell after having owned many, many bikes over the years. At the moment I also have a 1200 Vmax, VTR1000 Firestorm and a Dnepr MT9 with sidecar. I like the lightness of the Cyclone, the handling, torque and brakes are great, but I LOVE the noise! I think the ability to set off car alarms is important in a motorcycle... I'm just wrestling with a leak from the rear rocker cover, dead speed sensor, and torn upper engine mount. So far so good - not to bad to work on, although I have to wait a few days for a new mounting to turn up. Where's the best place to get parts? (I'm in Somerset - out in the sticks). |

Welcome, I see from your list of bikes that you have a taste for the characterful side of biking life, you'll get on well with the cyclone . If you get stuck, there is plenty of sarcasm, humour and good advice to be found here. Spares - I guess Riders is your first point of call (discount available) |

Welcome - great bike - best year - hugely under rated I believe in the words of fellow members that Riders of Bristol offer 13% discount for UKBEG members |

I don't know if the speedo sensor feed is modified on a 2001 Cyclone or not. But I seem to recall the new sensor will survive a lot longer if it has a 5 volt regulated supply rather than a 12 volt supply. Others should confirm for you if a 2001 M2 needs that modification or not. While the front engine mount is off, treat yourself to a nice billet front mount from Spondon 440 of this parish (and new bolts). |

Thanks for the heads-up about the voltage supply to the sensor - I'll look at that tomorrow. Riders we're great for the rocker cover gasket set. The parts guy even met me his way home to hand it over! Just need that mount to turn up, then I'll be back out terrorizing the locals.... |
