XB9 is a Buell Lightning 984cc as opposed to an XB12 which is a 1203cc Lightning engine. |

The Buell engine has more torque & power than the sportster engine, it was developed from better heads , porting valves ,cams &induction & exhaust https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-rev ... ty-x/2004/ https://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/mo ... 40523.html |

Thn x again now I understand why it seemed to go so well compared to a sportster. Damn maybe I should buy it off him now sounds as much fun as my brit bike days. (Bsa rocket gold star)!! |

Bike magazine named it as a top handling bike similar rake & trail to the 250 GP bikes apparently but obviously heavier they can have issues , like all bikes , wheel bearings need keeping an eye on desirable bits are.. a Free spirits belt tensioner , a Maz gearbox lube nipple plenty of info on this forum stuff etc. including lots of Fuelers V Tubers (Fuel in the frame V Tube framed Buells ) |

For what it's worth, just my opinion remember. Buells have the same nostalgic trip associated with them as older Brit bikes. My 1125r has the same feel & excitement as my Norton Commando & T160 Trident. Obviously much more power, but the same Nostalgia trip when I ride it. I feel like a young biker again & want to ride like that. The Triumph speed triple 955i & Daytona 955i as well as the Aprilia Mille & yes even the Firebolt I previously owned offered exactly the same feeling of nostalgia. The other thing is, that no matter what you do as regards tuning etc. That same feeling of nostalgia just gets better & better. It may be something to do with individuality & being able to put your own stamp on them, but whatever it is, I love them. Guess I'm a nostalgia junkie. All the best & welcome to the forum. |
