Hi all

Had a very impulse purchase of a 2006 xb12r. Not got it yet or ever ridden one. Have a number of bikes and saw a buell down my local last week. Was taken with its unique design and looks and one thing led to another and bought one. The bike does have the management light on and having had a look seems like ideal way is to use ecmspy software and a lead to check issue. Is there anywhere you can still download the software from now ? Looking forward to collecting the bike and having taking out 👌
Thanks

Thanks for the welcome and link for the software. Hopefully something simple to get the management light off. Really not sure what to expect when eventually have first run out on it…..

:yt: just remember it’s an old design engine , not an oriental rev box , just treat it like a classic bike , short shift through gears and use the torque , 2,000 -4,000 rpm is where it is happy . :yup:

I'd say more like >2,750 rpm. Mine were all lumpy below that, particularly the tubers, which weren't happy below 3k.

my 2006 xb12x ,2,000 bit lumpy 2,250-2,500 starts to smooth out and is ok , at 3,000 is on song, do like the top gear roll on for over take 60 - 80 :yup:

My main problem here is that 3k RPM equates to just over the 100 kph speed limit on the freeways, so I was perpetually in the lumpy zone. Was fantastic out in the sticks, but getting out to the sticks, and back home again, was painful.
