So i was not looking for another bike but was offered a 2002 X1 in trade for a car i wanted to sell. Had it been some UJM i would have said no, but a Buell sounded too tempting.
Only 1 PO in Sweden who bought it almost new in Germany 2002. 25000km:s and quite well cared for. Came with OEM ECU & exhaust and Race ECU and a carbon V&H pipe and 55 & 61 final drive. Oilpump drive ordered and waiting for bad weather so i can change it. Final drive nipple i want to do also so if someone has one laying around please! Otherwise will have to find someone with lathe. Bike is black and i have a thing against black bikes (and cars) so have already found red tank cover and bug screen? If someone has a red fender and spoiler? in descent shape i would be interested.
Otherwise been reading old posts and "how to:s" here and learned a lot. My previous knowledge on Buels or H-D:s is big zero, have a Triumph Street Cup and a Monster 1100 EVO also and those have seen lots of work/mods.

Starting to notice that growing! The chassi is really fun in twisties, the engine needs some getting used to.

Yes, the engine character is not so far from my Monster 1100 EVO, just a bit more raw.

For the main grease nipple I made a couple from some leftover pieces of 4mm alloy plate and cut them in the lathe.

It's not really difficult to make , but you have to measure the inside of the output axle looking at the needle bearing.
And a bit of conical edge on one side makes it easier to tap it in.

Looked in my spare parts stash , but have no grease plugs anymore.
Did make a couple some years ago for myself and sent the last couple down under.

If you can't find or haven't the tools to make one for yourself I could give it another try to make a couple again (need at least two myself for the waiting projects)
But it could take some time to do this because of to much daily work and not much free time!

I know Maz does have or had them in stock but doesn't do mail orders!
(Maybe someone on this forum lives close at his shop and could pick one up and send it by mail to Sweden!?)

Hi. Sorry for late answer, don´t get notification when there is activity on posts i am following. Have to take a look how to fix this!
I put 5cc oil in there with a syringe and needle so will be OK for a while, but is you are making plugs would appreciate if you made one for me also. No hurry for my part.
Checked with MAZ and he did not have any left.
The bike is quite nice, one owner who cared for it, but had lots of scatches on tank cover from tank bag probably. Not a big deal, i just don´t get black bikes or cars and have already found good tank cover and bugsceen in red. Front fender and chin spoiler to go, no luck with them yet.
PO was not aware of the oil pump drive problem so bought a "brass" drive, just trying to find a pinion lock tool so i can change it ASAP. Also running OEM front mount bracket which have to changed.
Some stuff to do but i like wrenching so looking forward to garage evenings.
Pity that these forums get so quiet as people go over to FB, i much prefer these "old time" forums.
Learns lots there reading old posts, that just can´t happen on FB!

For a good quality front engine mount you can contact Spondon440 on this forum.
He made a lot of awesome parts from billet alloy in the past for the tube frame buells , maybe he still has some leftover!?

Or DutchX1 also on this forum
He had one for sale a couple weeks ago on market place over here in Holland.
