Post subject: | Hello everyone |
I picked up my 1125R on Saturday and it's a great bike. It's a 2008 bike on a 59 plate. I wasn't sure about the paint scheme but it's really grown on me, and if anything seems to make the pods blend in a wee bit better. Not that they bothered me as I like the Harris Jump Jet look ![]() Some great prices out there, the dealer I bought the bike from is selling a new 2008 (58) in black for £6995. What a bike for this sort of money!! ![]() Attachment: 1125R_8ball_c.jpg

Yup, the arcs in the paintjob look as if they might camouflage the dumbo ears ![]() Great buy, well done - enjoy ![]() |

If the bike is the one in photo, then it needs the front brake line recall sorting ![]() ![]() ![]() Which dealer have you used in Scotland, since one of them is particularly notorious for being shite? If the clutch slave cylinder hasn't been upgraded it's highly probable you'll start loosing hydraulic fluid through the breather hole in the clutch cover. Keep an eye on it ![]() |

Keep an eye on it ![]() Thanks for the comments all, and for the info Adam, yes the brake line seems a bit close to the fork leg, ![]() ![]() Hopefully I have the 'non-shite' dealer ![]() I'll then pass your comments on to the dealer and see what they say about the recalls etc. I wasn't given any info re the recalls, but I'm certainly not feart to chase them up as I specifically asked for everything to be done before the bike was picked up and this was specifically 'promised'. ![]() PM sent...... ![]() J |

Welcome ! As to recalls - Brake line recall ( click it ) Gearbox recall ( click it ) Get documentation from the dealer to confirm that these have been done ! Also get yourself over to Badweatherbikers as they have a 1125R forum with a lot more info than us few mere mortals in the UK can provide - 1125Rs' in the UK are few and far between. As to the running issues - the bike has a solenoid to restrict enthusiastic throttle hands under certain conditions ( fitted to get through emissions laws ) - you can get a plug from your dealer ( part no: Y0248.1AM ), unplug the solenoid from the wiring loom and fit the plug instead ( the plug stops error messages ) - this may improve the response - especially if you are a little heavy handed with the throttle ! As Adam has stated, keep an eye on the clutch cover ( rear brake side of the engine ) - as soon as you spot a tell tale dribble get the dealer to fit the "permanant" fix ( part no: X2086.1AM ) - Adam can attest that it should cure the problem. |

Thanks SM, thanks Adam. The dealer, sales folks etc phoned me first thing this morning after my email. The bike was picked up this evening by van (Cheers R****) and will be delivered back to me by tomorrow. Seems a tech needs their arse kicked. I cant really argue with this and I'm sure all will now be well. (A***, if not you know I'm coming for ye ![]() I did notice that the battery seems goosed and comes up as as weak on the Optimate. I mentioned this and it will be replaced. Harsh to say but it's prob been sitting around for too long ![]() How many days left till they start spreading battery acid on the road mind?? ![]() |

The charging system on an '08 is marginal at best. If the battery had been kicking around unused and uncharged, it wouldn't have done it much good. Some '08s can disharge their batteries overnight. Mine went from fully charged to 4.2 Volts by the next morning ![]() |

On a more positive note, these motors seem extremely tight when they are fresh. It'll get much better the more miles you do. They don't need any extra running in but be patient and let nature take its course ![]() |
