Another good meet and thanks to CJ and Jane for organising it :yup: Didn't have to work too hard on the counting this time. Only an hour's ride for me, lovely on the way there, wet on the way back but still enjoyable. Great to see Battyone's ambuellance and his two drag bikes including the "rent a racer" 8-)

Image

Five 1125s, Battyone's two drag bikes, Albert666's 1125R, Kevmean's 1125CR and my 1125CR. This was before the late arrival of a mint white 2010 1125CR which has just had it's first MOT and is barely run in. It was good to see the owner out on a bike but he was a bit grumpy after a wet ride :maz:

Image

A potential performance enhancement for Battyone, a lighter rider could be all that's needed to close the 0.1 second gap on Littlebutquick :idea:

Steve

A bit grumpy after a wet ride is a major chuffin understatement :x
Left my shop at 11.45 this morning and enjoyed a dry ride until I got to Stoke where the heavens opened big time, so pulled into Stafford services to don my wet gear and have a fag break.
The 109 mile to the NMM took me an hour and 3/4 including another stop for fuel :shock:
Was all worth it when my 2 favourite peeps were there to meet me 8-) and then found Steve, Kev and Willy in the cafe :twisted: ......good to finally meet Nige and hook up with Dunno and Albert again.
The ride home was a total nightmare and took over 3 hours :shock: .......one fuel stop and several fag breaks because I've never been so cold and wet.....Belstaffs finest waterproof suit, isn't......although I'm sure even a deep sea diving suit would've leaked being preasure washed for 109 miles :x Visibility was down to zero (not helped by my ancient lid and wearing glasses :) ) and even the cars were crawling, reckon my average speed on the motorways was around 40 mph :sad1:
So, this morning I set out on basically a brand new CR with 840 miles on the clock and when I got back to the shop tonight, she looked very sad and about 10 years old but has finally turned over 1K on the clock lOl
Upon reflection, I should've stayed at home and watched my beloved F1.......but I hate to let Jane and Chris down 8-)

What do you think you got to the gallon on a trip like today Maz? ........... 2up at a more or less constant 70/75 MPH I get roughly 10 miles per litre.

Dunno, I'll check the IC tomorrow.......put £32 of fuel in to do 218 miles, no idea what's left in the frame or what was in there to start with :) .......got to remember Kev, even though the bike's 3 1/2 years old, I've only done 1K of riding on it, so I'm not exactly familiar with the bike yet lOl

.....and today was hardly a decent gauge.......all motorway miles and at vastly reduced speeds with a very steady hand on the throttle :x

.....and another thing.....had 3 very scarey moments today losing the back end whilst crossing white lines doing overtakes :? ......tyre pressures checked before I left this morning and suspension set to factory for my weight.
Whilst fuelling up on the way home at Hilton Park services, I had a young lad come over and congratulate me on saving a particularly big slide coming out of the road works by the RAC building......apparently he was behind me and hit the brakes so's not to run over the mess lOl

Later in the year we'll do some more of these meets where we concentrate on one particular Buell model. They're good fun and the peeps at the National Motorcycle Museum have proved very proactive and welcoming.

We'll try to organise better weather for the next one, the first two have been just a bit too soggy for our liking.

For those of us that like lists :oooops:, the score so far:
1125 = 6 off
Ulysses = 11 off

Rik - you'll have to remind me which Buell model(s) you have.

Jane suggested cute and cuddly (her words :D) Buell Blasts for the next NMM meet?
