Despite only living less than 10 miles from the RJ Mitchel museum, i hadn't been there.
Thanks Chris and Jane for prompting the meet there. Not a mega turn out, good to see Graham (MO) and his wife and friend too.
Some really interesting stuff crammed into this museum and amazing to learn how much the Southampton/Solent area played in aviation history.

The weather might have been pants at times but we've still had a good day. Tony, thanks for coming to meet us, it was good to have another Buell there. What a pleasant surprise to also meet Graham, Debs and Duncan, that was totally unexpected.

We can recommend the Solent Sky Museum. If you're an aeronautical nut its well worth the £6.50 admission and packed full of interesting exhibits. Seeing the Supermarine S6 made my day.

We accomplished our mission of placing the UKBEG plaque at R.J. Mitchell's memorial. As we were leaving Southampton purely by chance we came across the roundabout with the Spitfire. I'm sure local drivers were bemused to see two motorcycles parked on the pavement outside the Mercedes dealership. It just had to be done ....
