I hope to make this now. Bit late notice I know, but I didn't expect to get the bike MOTed this week, but managed to get a slot this avo. It will be great to see some old faces and get an insight into the great work being done at Papworth. All I have to do is to wake up in the morning...

Doug, hope you can make it. Don't worry, we'll save you a sticky bun. We added a couple to the numbers for refreshments just in case someone wanted to attend at the last minute.

A bit of a pants ride down today, intermittent showers and mizzle interspersed with dry bits. Some Guzzi riders are lightweights so the V7 stayed at home, clean and dry. The Ulysses isn't so clean and not quite dry....

Thanks to everyone who attended today, it was a good turnout and all of you did UKBEG proud ..

The Papworth Cystic Fibrosis and fundraising teams pulled out all the stops and made us very welcome. Charles Haworth, CF Consultant Physician, gave a short talk about the medical advances that have been made in the fight against this awful disease and what a difference the money that UKBEG has raised, has made to the Papworth CF Unit. Not only in terms of vital medical equipment and research but also in providing simple things like modern technology etc. so every CF patient has a more comfortable stay in hospital.

One thing we didn't realise before today's visit was that UKBEG's Em's Charity is the only one that's raised so much money for the CF Unit over such a long period. We felt immensely proud of what UKBEG has achieved since Emma passed away in 2004.

Before we all went our separate ways there was a photo shoot featuring all of us and the motorcycles outside the CF Unit. We didn't take any pictures but the Papworth team will email us some tomorrow.

As mentioned previously some of the Papworth team will be at Em's Day on the 29th May. They're keen to meet Erik Buell and thank him for the interest he's shown in Em's Charity over the years and for supporting this years event by his presence.
