At last! We have been able to bite the bullet and book the last room at the Rutland Arms despite the best efforts of ailing parents and other issues. Sadly we will be in four wheels as my blanace cant be relied on yet, but at least we will be there

It's great news that Claire and Rick are going make it to Newmarket, there's now a good number of us staying over in the area on Saturday night.

We just need Spring to finally kick in and get rid of this awful cold and snowy weather and it'll be another great event at Black Bear.

What to do as regards ride or drive this weather is not to be trusted snow rain frost, X1 still not been out for it's debut and still can't see it happening this weekend. First is still not insured waiting for carole nash to pull there fingers out Second is i don't want to take it out with salt, frost n snow especially knowing it's going to take hours and hours to get it back to normal. Maybe after a couple of ride outs things will change But i will be there one way or another.

Looking like a good turnout and judging from the number of people stopping over it should be a memorable Saturday night too.

There have only been a couple of takers for service bookings on the day so please let me know by 1400 tomorrow if you want to take advantage of this or I'll have to open up the spaces to Harley-Davidsons rather than see technicians standing idle.

Back on the road again!

Sorry, I guess it's my fault , ever since I wrote three weeks ago, prior to go going up to Northumberland and Edinburgh, that there's 'no snow in the forecast' the weather's gone pear shaped ......

Any road up, we're travelling down to Suffolk on Friday to be ready bright and early at Black Bear on Saturday morning. At the moment we're undecided what mode of transport to use - we'll see what the forecast's like on Thursday night.

The Black Bear Easter BBQ has been affected by snow before, in March 2008, when our Ulysses was only 5 months old and we had to stay an extra night near Newmarket because of the conditions....

I'm still trying to put the memories of past camping in the snow behind me.I'll be on the X1 with any luck,if not it'll be the car.I may have to drag out a full face helmet which is rare for me,but when I took the X1 for a mot on Monday only nine miles to Petersfield, the windchill factor made me think my open face and goggles best stay at home.

Hope to meet up with you all at the BBQ.
