To any newbies dithering whether to attend this or any UKBEG meet all I can say is get your butts there! I know the fact that a lot of folk on here know each other personally and are great friends can seem cliquey and daunting but you will never meet a more open, welcoming and friendly bunch. These people take you to their hearts and soon become not just dear friends but family.
When Rick and I first showed our faces was THAT Em's day four years ago. We met up with Digger and some of the northern monkeys and received a warm welcome. We caused hilarity on the ride down which poor Rick will never live down
. But on our arrival at East Kirkby and the news coming in we fully expected and understood that folk might be too grief stricken to be bothered with
new comers. Far from it! They did exactly what Yoffi would have wanted and done himself and made us welcome with open arms. We are now proud to call all these people our friends and indeed our family. They are the kind of people you may not see except at events like this but I know for a fact that if you ever need help of any kind they will be the first ones to offer.
Make the effort and find out what you are missing. I assure you its more than worth it
I've been going on and off for the last five years, I missed THAT year
as I was away, and last year because it was so wet (wimp
). It's a great event and the biggest Buell gathering of the year, well worth going. It's a great place to see friendly faces and an opportunity to meet some of the people you have only interacted with through the forum.
I/We should be there about one-ish.....See you all tomorrow
