The BMW Club have invited UKBEG members to their 2012 Track Day events.

They're being held at Snetterton on Monday 18th June and Monday 6th August.

The cost is £120 and the regulations state 'motorcycles must be road legal but will not be scrutinised'.

If you would like a copy of the regulations and application forms please send me your e-mail address via PM and I'll forward them on.

116 :o :D...

There's no mention of noise limits or noise testing within the BMW Club paperwork but the Snetterton web site states 102 dba static and 92 dba drive-by for all motorcycles that wish to use the track.

Details shown here

Looks like an 1125CR day then. Not taken it on a track yet although I have been around a couple on 1125Rs. Should be okay for the August date, CJ :yup:

Tempting! If they apply the 102dB limit (and I'm sure they will), a closed end on the Supertrapp should take care of that. :)

You're always welcome to come and stay, Walter. Snetterton is only about 20 miles from us. :yup:

Speedy, I've e-mailed the organiser asking if there's room for you, Walter, GB and me on the June 18th trackday.
Which group would you and Walter want to be in? Intermediate or Advanced? I'll probably go for the intermediate group, as I suspect the advanced group will be full of track day specials and BMW S1000RR's, and the Sporty would get swamped. Snetterton used to be the second fastest track in the UK, after Thruxton, but a new loop in the circuit has probably reduced top speeds slightly and should have made it more interesting. :D

:hehe:
Walter, I had a reply from my e-mail to the organiser...
Quote:
800GS tyres no problem.
Dutch licence no problem
noise is the problem, it's strict 102 static, we had a Buell fail last year, I would advise to get them checked out in Holland at 5000 RPM,
there are still places available at present

Seems that Snetterton still strictly apply their 102dB limit. Can you get your bikes tested somewhere in Holland? It would be a big waste to come all this way just to get turned away on the day. The noise test shall be measured from a position 0.5m behind the exhaust at a 45 degree angle, with the engine running at 5,000rpm for twins greater than 750cc.

edit: It's ridiculous that twins are tested at 5,000rpm, which is getting on towards red line, when 4 cylinder bikes are tested at 5,500rpm and can rev to more than double that!

Well, really don't know where to check the dB (at this moment), but will turn up with my 12 Firebolt in stock configuration. Speedy's 1125 is stock too.

cheers;
Jaques the Fatalist, ;)
