I'm thinking of organising an Exmoor meet and ride late march 2012 and wondered if folks might be interested. Come on all you south westies.
Thinking along the lines of meeting at Minehead Sea Front tour the moor bredon hills - dulverton back to dunster then Porlock over the moor to Exford - Simonsbath - Lynton - Valley of the rocks - Woody bay Martinhoe - Lynmouth back to Porlock Weir for food at The Ship (12th century thatched inn on the harbour) :sun:
Brilliant Roads, beautifull scenery coast and moor and some lovely pub stops for cream teas along the way. :yup:
Its about an 1 1/2 hour from Bristol area and the tour would be about 100 miles the weather in March is pretty kind down there.
So let me know if your interested and I'll see if CJ can slot it into the events calendar.
All the best Rich

Few of us are thinking about having a weekend riding down there next year so might do it the same weekend. Good to have someone show us the roads down there.

Sunday 25th March would be our preferred option but we could do Saturday 24th if that's what others choose.

And....I've just checked the Travelodge web site and their Taunton motel has a 2 night deal (at the moment) for the 24th & 25th @ £48 total :P...

Team Travelodge (aka Team Yorkshire) eagerly await a decision :D...

That Travelodge £48 deal has expired for the 24th/25th and it now costs considerably more. We'll have to give this proposed meet-n-ride a miss for that particular weekend, it becomes too expensive when you factor in the fuel for 2 bikes covering 700+ miles and accommodation for 2 nights.

Sounds good. Hope it's sunny. 8-)

On our last trip down there, the coast road from Bridgewater to Minehead was a bit slow going (40 limit ), and you have to watch out at junctions for miopic tourists! ;) But next route south and coast road beyond Minehead is great even in a car. ;)
