Of possible interest to fellow aeronautical nuts is this flying display which is being held at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby.

P-51 Mustangs and Dakotas are the main attraction but the event also includes 2 Lancaster bomber taxi-tun displays.

I'm sure we'll get a view of those from Cadwell Park, where we will be cheering Brock along in the company of the Third Earl of Worksop.... :D

Today's weather in that part of Lincolnshire could have been better (where have I heard that before :D) but it's still been an enjoyable day with classic aircraft and a great atmosphere at East Kirkby.

Two Dakotas and one P-51 Mustang put on a superb flying display and WW2 re-enactors with 1940's American military vehicles provided demonstrations of period kit and weapons including mortars firing blanks - very effective and noisy.

This Dakota saw action on D-Day, 6th June 1944 and was involved in operation Market Garden, September 1944, over Arnhem:
