Oh alright, Spen, you've sold it to me. Would be rude not to as it's only ten miles from my front door. See you there 8-)

Kettle will be on the table in the garage, if Sue and myself can't get due to her dad's health, Brock is under instructions to set the 'hospitality suite' up.... lOl

At the moment it's looking good for us to get there, but we assess the situation daily.....

We had a great day at yesterday's CRMC Silverstone. There was the usual interesting mix of classic race and parade machines and all of them readily accessible. Walking around the paddock at any CRMC event and talking to the competitors is almost as good as watching the racing.

Thanks once again to Spen and Sue for their hospitality - we've certainly got the classic racing bug again and plan to attend many more CRMC events in 2013.

Team Spencer - despite a seized crankshaft they maintained their sense of humour. It helps if you have a spare crankshaft to hand and at least two-strokes are easy to work on....

A selection of the Italian motorcycles at Silverstone, including this stunning 500cc Guzzi single - it sounded as good as it looked :P ....

What a weekend, Brock was leading his first race when he pulled off the track, big end on right hand cylinder had seized..... we stripped the motor, replaced the crankshaft, rebuilt the engine and got him out for the next race. Because he didn't finish the previous race he had to start from the back of the grid and by the time he'd fought his way through 40+ riders he manage a very impressive 2nd place.......

Some great racing throughout the weekend, Guy Martin, Sean Emmett, Maria Costello and many others battling it out.

Thanks to CJ and Jane for the pics........ :yup:

It's all good fun...... the best bit is watching teams throw thousands of pounds at their bikes to beat Brock, new tyres every meeting, (we get a full season out of a pair), fancy frames, (we use an original 1967 frame with home made bracing and lugs ground off), fancy carbs, (we use old Mikunis and machine them out), the only trick item on our bike is the Diggertours ignition...... fancy forks, (we use 1963 Ducati 350 forks)..

Everything done in a draughty ol' garage......... we had one chap bragging at Lydden that he'd spent over £10,000 on his bike, he'd got a flash motorhome too**.... he didn't take it too well when Brock said our budget was around £300 after he'd just beat him by 11 seconds.... somebody complained that we must be running an oversize engine.. it was checked and found to be undersize.

**Our caravan cost £100, the last one cost £150 off Greasemonkey and lasted us 6 years before we had to admit defeat and buy the 'new' one.....
