To be held at the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, East Kirkby, near Spilsby.

Location details: here

This will be our 6th visit to the fireworks spectacular at East Kirkby. Previous years have seen a good turnout from UKBEG members. Jane will once again provide delicious home-made parkin :4roz:....

Seeing (and hearing) four Merlin engines running at night with their exhausts spitting flames is something else and well worth the trip.

The fireworks and parkin aren't bad either :P....

We'll be at the Aviation Centre during the afternoon before going to check into our room at the Red Lion, returning around 6.00pm for the fireworks etc.

It'll be very busy in the evening if the decent weather forecast is correct - if you can't find us our mobile number is 0792 626 5582.

I hope you have better visibility than we have here today. Fireworks would be a total waste this evening.
Enjoy and have fun!

We've had another great weekend in Lincolnshire. Last nights firework spectacular was the best yet with a superb professional display. Previous years have been very good but they used a new company for this years event, it was breathtaking and beautifully choreographed. It certainly beats nailing a Catherine wheel to a fence post or launching a single rocket from a bucket of sand in your back garden.

Although cold it remained dry for the main evening event. The Aviation Centre was packed, I don't think we've ever seen it so busy. The afternoon was a lot quieter with perhaps just a couple of hundred people present. An unscheduled appearance by a BBMF Spitfire was a real treat - you can never have enough Merlin engine action :P...

A recent acquisition by the Aviation Centre, a WW2 German truck complete with generator to power their mobile searchlight unit....
