Is Silverstone offering the club discount again this year?

Mike - yes, there is an offer of discounted weekend tickets. I think they're £70 instead of the normal £85 but I will post firm details in the next few days.

Jane and I won't be going to the Moto GP event but we're willing to handle the bookings etc. as a service to UKBEG members.

We have to buy a minimum of 10 tickets to qualify for the discount but knowing that where they can park their motorcycle is important for some members I contacted Silverstone a few weeks before we went to Normandy and they replied while we were away:


Sorry for the delay in coming back to you on this, unfortunately we cannot guarantee centre parking for this event, we will try to get as many clubs in the centre as possible but unfortunately it is decided by the number of bookings taken and the space we are allocated by Dorna.


I'm not sure we could achieve the minimum of 10 tickets for Moto GP without the guarantee of centre parking. I'd welcome some feedback from UKBEG members before I proceed with this.

FYI - we're going to Silverstone BSB over the weekend of 3rd to 5th October and we have accommodation booked. Centre parking is OK for this event and we'll have a UKBEG stand there if we can achieve the minimum of 10 tickets. I will put the notice up for BSB in late July or early August.

A yes for Moto GP from me. I'll camp as well so I don't have to get up at silly o'clock to get there early.

Price clarification from Silverstone:

It is £70 for a weekend ticket and the camping is £60 per person at Woodlands campsite.

I'm up for both of those so long as nothing else comes up with work. Hang on, I'll call it work 8-)

Actually it's the Copdock Show on the BSB weekend so I probably won't make that one. How could I resist the Slags' hospitality and Krazy Horse will be exhibiting so I'll probably be there with my EBR hat on 8-)

Mike_S = 8
PedroW = 1 + camping
Ursus (Steve) = 1
Buellfrog (Bruno) = 1

There's plenty of time so there's no need to send me money at the moment. I will post details after the 16th July when we return from holiday and I'll collect the money before the deadline of Friday 1st August. Payment will be by cheque or bank transfer.

I will order the tickets from Silverstone week commencing 4th August.

There's a change to my deadline for ordering and paying for the tickets, I now have to contact Silverstone before the 25th July.

This shouldn't cause any problems if you're paying by bank transfer but it leaves it a bit tight if you're paying by cheque. We're away 4th to 16th July and I return to work (and this web site) on the 17th July.

If you plan to send a cheque I would suggest you post it first class on the 16th July:
