UKBEG Anglo-Dutch-German Buell Meet, Sunday 22nd May 2016.

As part of the UKBEG Netherlands & Germany Week, 21st to 30th May, we’re organising an informal Buell meet at Café Brasserie Oortwijn, Canadastraat 9, 8141 AA Heino, on Sunday 22nd May.

The meet starts at noon and is open-ended, come and go as you please. We hope to attract Buell owners from all three countries.

Café Brasserie Oortwijn is situated on the beautiful Salland route and has been recommended by our good friends at Ducati Club Nederland; it’s where they hold their monthly regional meetings.

Please help to spread the word to the wider German Buell community, we'd like to make this meet as successful as possible.

We haven't had a lot of feedback regarding this informal Buell meet in Heino but we're still going ahead with it. We may be pleasantly surprised with how many turn up, much like yesterday's NMM event.

I won't be using a Buell for this Netherlands trip because our Ulysses is undergoing its 60,000 mile service and I just haven't got enough free time to get it finished before we set off on Friday.

We'll be at the Café for noon as planned. There's showers forecast for the afternoon but hopefully it won't be too bad.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained......

We didn't enjoy the best of conditions today but Jan and Erica made it to the café on two of their S1's. Thanks to both of them for making the effort :worthy: ...It was good to meet up again, we'd not seem them since our last Buell meet in the Netherlands, May 2015.

The café itself was a good choice for a meeting point, the food was delicious and the proprietor couldn't have made us more welcome. We can understand why the Dutch Ducati Club use it for their monthly regional meetings.

Jan suggested we visit the American Motorcycle Museum in Raalte while we were in the area, it was only a few miles from the café. We're glad we followed his advice, it's a real gem of a place and one of the best motorcycle museums we've visited. They have a superb collection of machines from just about every manufacturer, including Buell. Well worth a visit if you're in the area, their website: http://www.ammh.nl

Just sorting through some of the pictures I took yesterday.....

Some of the people involved with the American Motorcycle Museum in Raalte have raced Buells at the Dutch Ducati Club Races, Assen and they have a small section showing their exploits at the circuit. No race Buells on display unfortunately.
