I'd quite forgotten about that, might as well check it out as it's just down the road lOl That Nick Saunders fella is a pretty sound chap, his kids were in secondary school with mine.

I went on one of his Mid Wales glorified treasure hunts a few years back. I asked him why he felt the need to constantly run away when he was (at the time) married to such a stunning woman. He seemed rather bemused. Lovely fella, mad as a bag of spanners.

Yeah, she's lovely. Used to spend a lot of time talking to her on 'Parents Evenings' at school ;) lOl We also used to Paraglide off the hill behind his house, and he'd often wander up the hill to watch us.

Hey Adam...do you still paraglide? I have always had a yearning to try paramotoring living in the flattest part of the UK.
If I ever sold the CR it would be to fund some kit and some training. It's the only thing that would give as much as a buzz... :D

Now and then, but my Instructor Rating has lapsed. I've dabbled with Paramotors, and built my first one using a Weslake flat twin drone engine. It was so heavy it had to be lifted onto my back! I bought a lighter 2 stroke factory one after that and took it to 14,000ft before it ran too rich and wouldn't climb any more lOl . There's a Paramotoring school called 'Beyond Extreme' that I'd recommend (although I call it Beyond Belief lOl ) because I taught it's CFI Mark Dann to fly as a Student foot launch Paraglider and then Coached him through his Instructor Training.

You can start your training now, buy some books on Weather and Meteorology and you'll be ready for the exams when the time comes. Understanding these things will also keep you alive lOl

:yt: Everything young Adam says, plus be aware of carb icing. You have no idea how tight your sphincter can get when you glide over a concrete posted chain link fence with inches to spare on a dead engine lOl

I've just been discussing carb icing on another Forum. Surprising that people don't really understand it and think it's only a function of temperature.

Do you remember one of the first trios that was televised and one bloke had a Buell. It.keot breaking down and was often getting towed by another bike. 🤣

Many years ago I was invited to go see the beach race in France. The transport was what seemed a wreck of a Cesna. You could see day light through the gap at the bottom of the door when it was shut, the roof lining and seat covers were hanging off...... I was tasked with pulling a knob to stop the carb icing up. It & I got quite a work out. The plane was well over its limits on that windy day in Febuary. :ill:
