Yes folks, hopefully the lockdown will be a distant memory by July 8th when I meet up again after a rediculous absence with our friends from darn sarf.

Evening of 8th July, New Forest Hotel, Ashurst. Already looking like being well attended from members at the other place. So, your attendance is required. That's all.

I was, events have conspired against us and we returned in January, as you probably know since then travel has been made very expensive and difficult, we are permitted to travel, but it is not ideal and I do not feel comfortable with it, so we are waiting until we are both vaccinated.

We have Portuguese residency and are allowed to be out of the country for two years, then we will forfeit our residency status, but we hope to be out there permanently either end of this year or the beginning of next.

In the meantime it has allowed me to sell a lot of my stuff, spruce up the house for sale, so we can make a clean break of it, which in light of what is happening is the best way forward.

I am appreciating the beauty of where we are now and this morning watched as two Sika deer crossed the river then went up the opposite bank and shook the water from themselves, the spray was caught in the sunlight which gave them an aura, it was stunning, then the Hurricane came out to play, stunting as much as they can, the sound of that engine...So I am enjoying the time I have left in the UK and being positive and motivated knowing what awaits. :sun:

Good to hear. Portugal is a terrific country to live in. Good luck when you finally make the move permanently.

Was a lovely meeting seeing those that live local and haven't seen for a long time. A couple of people made the effort to travel quite a distance to meet up. All in all a great evening, I will leave it to someone else to name all the participants. Here's to the next one :yup:
