We've been thinking of organising an event over the Winter period based at the Yorkshire 4x4 Centre near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. Their web site is http://www.yorkshire4x4.co.uk The cost would be £59 per person, per hour. Would this sort of event be of interest to UKBEG members? There are two Quad Bike packages available - described below: Quad Challenge - 1 hour. During the session each rider will use their own powerful 300cc Polaris sportsman Atv to tackle 4 acres of amazing terrain. Hills, humps, axle deep mud and fast flowing streams, the close proximity of water adds to the excitement, it really is fantastic. The Quad challenge zone has been developed to allow novices the thrill of riding over challenging terrain and to allow those with experience to push themselves and the bike to the limit. Quad Trek - 2 hours. With the challenge zone under their belt, those of you who choose to follow up with the trek, are in for a real treat! You will be taking in some of the most challenging terrain in the North of England. Confidence, commitment and technique will be required in equal parts if you are to negotiate the deep gullies and moorland bogs! As for the hills, well some say bravery is a must! We like to think respect for gravity and sound technique is more important, either way prepare for an adrenaline fuelled ride not to be forgotten! |

Hey Bonzo - what's the off-road scene like in Doha, can you ride anywhere you like? Gary - I should imagine Canada has some great wilderness treks available. You stay where you are and we'll come visit you .... |

Sounds good. Ive been looking around trying to find places to do some trail riding somewhere next to me, all seems to be down south though. What day are you thinking of doing this? Is it gonna be the 1 or 2 hour trek? |

Hi David - we thought a Sunday would be best, probably in January. We'd thought of doing the 1 hour trek but others could go for the 2 hour if they wished. |

CJ wrote: Hey Bonzo - what's the off-road scene like in Doha, can you ride anywhere you like? Hi CJ, You can almost ride where you like, very few places off limits. Most people congregate south of Doha at the dunes en route to the inland sea, but there are rocky areas as well. Most expats tend to go early in the morning, when it's cooler and quieter. Most locals go in the late afternoon, when things get manic. There are no rules, no-one in charge, and you're fighting for space with kids in turbo charged landcruisers etc etc. Best to keep out of the way then |
