The first UKBEG event of 2010 - a trip to a sand racing meet....

Image

Come and experience Mablethorpe in January Image - bracing sea breezes and hot bike action guaranteed. The fish and chips are pretty good too :P...

Arrive by bike or car - all are welcome, it's sure to be a good day.

Location and event details: here

Note, the sand races are due to start around 9.30 am on the 3rd January.

Meet between 10.30 and 11.00 am at the Ulceby Cross petrol station & Spar shop, near Alford. Postcode is LN13 0EY. It's located on the roundabout at the junction of the A16/A1028/A1104, opposite the (now closed) Haywain Motel, and is approximately 11 miles from Mablethorpe.

Norrie if you do decide to come down there is a spare room at mine if you wanted to stay over......................afraid the bike would have to stay outside though ...can only get one in the utility
Mablethorpe is only 15miles from me.

There will, of course, be a posse meeting at Little Chef, Elsham (A15/A180 junction)
Details to be posted later by Mr Digger. 8-)

Definitely too far for us.... 145 miles to the NMM was enough, and that was in a car!!! LOL. Have a great time all of you.. will be thinking of you whilst snuggling up by the fireside..... x

I'm Hoping to make this one. :yup:
Last time we ventured to the Sand racing we met at Willingham Woods, not suggesting this was necessarily any better, just an alternative.

For Sunday it's forecasting +2 deg C and snow/sleet showers Image - don't forget your swimwear :D...

We'll be at the Ulceby Cross petrol station & Spar shop, near Alford, between 10.30 and 11.00 am as originally planned.

I'll see how I get on over the next couple of days - lots to do at the moment & time might be better spent locally. So no meet at Elsham.

Hoping to be there but may wimp and take the car if Harry wants to join me .........was hoping to have had him trying out the sandracing this year but due to being off work we've not had the chance and not going to throw him in at the deep end in front of you lot   ...........and you'd only take the piss out of me if the bike broke down :D .........Talking of which one of our friends who is one of the honda superbike teams chiefs gets very frustrated as everytime they take their CR85 on the beach it runs like crap but all year motoxing it never misses a beat lOl ..............Sea water is amazing for finding a bikes electrical weak spots :)

Decisions, decisions.....shall we use a bike :P or the car :( on Sunday?

Kev - what's the road conditions like in your area? We don't fancy doing a 220 mile round trip on two wheels if it's looking dodgy.
