That noise limit isn't very generous, I've seen classics go round at a lot louder than that

You should have opened the throttle a little lOl I'm sure you could have hit the limiter on the sound level meter 8-) ........

I'd certainly be up for it ............ if I ever fix my M2 from its last Cadwell outing

anyone actually got a DB meter? i'd be mildly interested/amused at how badly my CR would fail the 105Db limit

Where's Spen when you need him :D....

What is the Classic Racing Motorcycle Club noise limit at Cadwell, 112 dba?

Most, if not all, UK tracks have a track day 'static' limit of 105 dba, which isn't too bad considering that new, standard road bikes first used on or after 1st April 1991 have a 'drive-by' 82 dba limit or from 17th June 2003 a 80 dba limit.

And, before anyone states the obvious, I know most Buells are fitted with after-market exhausts but there are road-legal versions available.

EC 'drive-by' noise limit regulations shown on page 6 here

Noise: The maximum noise level is 105dB – measured at 0.5 meter from the silencer exit and at 45° to the line of pipe as per FIM regulations.

Oh, for the old days when it didn't matter..... it was nice to do Donington Park this year with no limit on noise, the Honda 6 going round at full chat.......

people who buy a house near a race track , then complain about the noise :headbang:

My mate Andy was a rural Police Officer on the North Notts/Humberside border, a call came in one day from a chap complaining about his neighbour, Andy knew the area and knew the nearest neighbour was a farm about 4 miles away.... the complainant, a Londoner who had decided to move to the country and travel daily by train to his job in London was perturbed that the 'neighbour', a farmer, was making a noise with his tractor and trailer as it went past at 7.30am on a Saturday morning......

Andy told him to make the best of it, as the 'neighbour' would be coming past at 4.30am when summertime arrived.....

.......... same thing with race circuits.

:yt: Same with the incomers to my village. Always complain about shooting vermin at night, but fail to realise that all landowners have a legal duty (under the '52 Act) to clear their land of rabbits. These are not the same as the cute little critters they buy for Tabitha to keep in a cage in the garden
