Another question.

This time about the rear axle protectors. I fit these this morning, the bobbin/bung on the right hand side of the bike seem a little tight to where the paddock stand lifts it up. ie seems to be slightly recessed into the swingarm, the left side seem to be much prouder.

Is it due the the axle spindle sitting further in the swingarm on the right or can another spacer be fitted to give me more room?

Cheers....

There is, it just doesn't seem to sit out far enough.

I've fit some old fuel hose over the paddock sand hooks to prevent any marks on the swingarm.

Does look a little odd zoidberg. My rear R&G bobbins are more if not perfectly symetrical. :? ...but I use a different kind of stand.

Maybe your right bobbin was machined undersize. It wouldn't take much reduction in taper size of the alloy spiggot for it to sit deeper. PM me an address, and I'll send you an old spare right bobbin for you to check.

Or.............for some strange reason.........assuming that everything else is standard, maybe your axle is wound further through the right wing of the swing arm, or the right arm is angled out further  ..........compare with another 06/07.

Give me your address and I'll send you an old spare

Looked at my rear bobbins in the daylight (last night  ) and mine are more asymetrical than I thought. All 06 onwards swingarms are like that zoidberg. :(

it doesn't matter too much edd. thanks for looking.

i've sleeved the stand hooks with some rubber hose for now.

I'll have a proper look when I'm on my days off. I fit them last week and haven't looked at them since apart from to take the photos.
