Because I clearly fitted my aftermarket Remus incorrectly, I want to see if I can get it right now I have all the parts again.

The can came with a strap (for the front) which has no nut. I'll fit one onto the t-bar bolt. Anyway, it also came with a rubber strap. Now, do I fit this strap under the metal of the front strap (between the OE clasp thing and the can) or do I fit it under the half-moon shaped thing that the rear of the exhaust is double strapped to?

Sorry for pestering. I promise to provide a free bar should I ever get out to a meet (drinking is one thing I can do well)

Oh and for added lol, anything recommended to cover up scuff marks on exhausts? :(

I do not know what year bike you have or what type. I guess it is a Buell though. Mine is a 06 Uly and the Remus can went on exactly the same way as the OEM came off. I do not recall the front strap use it if its on the OEM can. I did not use a rubber strap. I also used a small amount of exhaust paste at the joint. If yours is a 08 plus bike it may be diff.

The straps/threads do come up a little short you just have to pull them up hard to get the nut on. Also do not do them up to hard as it is not needed.

My attempts to do the rear straps up have to date all failed in holding it to the rear moon-hanger thing. The straps just wobble off.

The front strap will be tightened better this time. The sparse instructions recommend 10nm..

Anyway, it really was whether the rubber went on the front strap or the rear.

Thanks.

I wish I'd known, Albert. I feel I have to press on with the Remus now.

Bloody thing. Will try rubber on the rear, first. Was hoping someone would have fitted a Remus to their 08+ XB, but wishful thinking I guess.

Where do you live Docca? I'm sure somebody local to you would be happy to take a quick peek. Just out of interest does your bike have an exhaust valve emulator and if so what have you done with that?
Oh and here's an avatar for you.

That picture looks nothing like me; not enough drewl for a start :(

Some people need some things explaining in more detail than other people. With anything mechanical, I'm a spastic. Hold my hands up about that, but I'm willing to give it a go. I might look like a proper bellend asking for help amongst all the veritable experts here, but i'm not going to spit the :Dummy: because of the piss taking.

The exhaust valve emulator was disconnected and tucked behind the front pulley cover. :yup:

I know somebody who tied his to the frame and melted it against his rear cylinder!
I don't know if it helps but when I fitted my Stealth there was no rubber strap, so I'm thinking it might not be essentail.
