I spent all day Saturday making a light weight petrol tap for a Trials bike I'm finishing off (every Gram counts ;) lOl ) It turned out lovely and worked well, until I decided to turn some barbs on the outlet spout to save the weight of a clip. The fekin tool on my lathe dug in and the chuck mangled the tap out of all recognition - I walked to the door of my workshop and launched the remnants into the woods - much to the alarm of some passing Ramblers lOl lOl

At the risk of asking a stupid question, what is the problem with an electronically controlled tap?

We know the issues that can arise when we forget to turn the petrol tap off on a tuber, so why not fit an ignition controlled electronic tap?

My 1978 Morini used this system, so why is it not more popular - its not exactly rocket science?

Oh, and I'd be up for a small tank too!

Just a thought...
How different is an X1 tank cover to the top part of the S1/M2 Manta tank as pictured by Holtworks on p6? ...
Am I the only one thinking that it would not be a quantum leap?
(Be gentle with me as I'm only a humble M2 Razorback owner and I've never examined an X1 tank cover closely)

You'd be suprised mate, there has been more scrap in my place this week than steptoes yard, if someone made me an offer I'd gladly wank about for the rest of my life.

I crashed a machine so hard once (not one of my own thankfully) that I swear all 3 tons of it lifted off the floor, really scary.

Hi All
Just wanted to give you a Tank update. We had a few problems with the tooling for the underside which we had to get redone, but Tony has been working on the new tooling for the underside all week and we should be making the undersides next week.
Thank you for all your patience, once we have finalised the underside tooling we can start producing the tanks.
We are aiming to get these out to you all as soon as possible.
As soon as some undersides are complete I will post some pictures.

Vacuum taps seem more reliable.

Yeah but, you'd need to know that you needed to turn it off, you'd need a powerful tap, and I guess you'd also need an alternative landing plan, but I'll concede that in principle you're probably right :P

Amazing!
Just found out I live really close to 'HOLTWORKS' so paid them a visit - totally blown away by the quality of what I saw there and the huge range of tanks they have produced.
I keep a boat in the marina next to them so just popped in unannounced and there on the bench was the mould thingy for the bottom of a manta tank. This is going to be so worth waiting for. I'll be ordering a small one (tank) for myself.
Met Tony and Michelle and was completely reassured that this is all going to happen - and soon. He's basically been doing it all himself but now has some help in the workshop so things should progress a bit quicker now.
These are works of art not just fuel tanks. :clap:

Yee-har! Just put down a deposit for a small tank.

Can't afford it but hey - WTF - that plastic tank has just got to go!

It will be the inspiration for a winter project to polish all the aluminium and make it look like a polished aluminium-thing!

Hi all
Here are pictures of the underside of the tank, the tooling for the underside is now complete. Hopefully we can start getting some tanks ready. I can't give you any actual dates, but now the tooling is complete and we are over the main hurdles the tanks should follow more quickly.
