Both.....plus basic design flaw ie. only Erik would be daft enough to put an air cooled engine inside a petrol tank :headbang:
Working on them requires a gynaecologists skills, meaning even basic tasks eg. changing plugs etc, is a PITA, costing owners more for service and common faults are all down to them being built down to a price dictated by the H-D accounts dept.

Right guys my fully mazed Buell X1 is now back home, and very pleased am i :D really can't wait for the weather to pick up :sad1: I would really like to thank :maz: for being so patient or not at times :!: This has been a long re-build and i might add most of it is my fault :o Looking back to the start i can say i didn't like :maz: although never met or spoke his manc attitude on the forum made the hairs stand up on my neck  but when you really meet him and talk his language ( Buells ) this man really knows his stuff :yup: and a perfectionist in his work. Also thanks to Spondon440 for the beautiful engineering (yokes, dash plate, ast bracket, and not finished yet!) Ronnie for Shock, Triple S for finally getting it right (i hope)Albert666 for the loud fantastic exhaust. Tony Archer for seat, XB4RT for the inspiration, i said one day i hoped my bike would be half as good as his well Pete
Twin front discs later this year will top the cake, This bike will hopefully be with me for the rest of my riding days. Once again thanks to all. :worthy: :worthy: :worthy: :worthy:

More pics soon.......

Fan bloody tastic, would be top of my wishlist. To my mind The X1 is a Loreal bike "WORTH IT" herz to you Nick wishing you and your steed an intimate relationship. :D

I was asked to rebuild a 200 Suzuki race bike two years ago Maz, the chap who owned it insisted on having the expansion chambers powder coated, I was against this as I feared it might upset the much needed resonance, but hey ho, he was paying so it was done. It's done a few race miles and still looks good.

I've got a spare standard expansion chamber for Harrys TZR50 ..... I might get it blasted and powder coated just to see how well it does stand up on an exhaust ............... better to experiment on his bike than mine lOl lOl lOl

I've just found that out, been reading the manual to see the rest about changing the headers, got to virtually take the whole bike to bits  Wish I'd never started lOl
