I't co'mes of ty'ping one hand'd

S3's are made of stern stuff - When the bugger attacked me it was threatened with a sledge hammer. Not a flinch.

Somebody has to abuse them, the little bastids - otherwise the pedants will become redundant.

Now the difficult bit. About six months ago I put up probably the best example of an M1 for sale here and a fine example of Maz's work. I had huge interest - and couldn't bring myself to sell ... but the bad news - I couldn't afford to bring her back and store .. (1500 GBP) ,

Your bike had a lot of interest when you advertised it, and like everyone else I think its a crying shame that it is going to be destroyed. No disrespect to your chopper mate, he's just doing his thing. But I can't understand why it was going to cost £1500 to bring back to the UK. I'm sure somebody on here would have bought it, and had a cheapish adventure riding it back home. :?

Interest and commitment imo do not always go hand in hand mate.

It's always been my hope that when the day arrives the S3T will find it's new loving mummy or daddy on here. But I'm realistic - the chances of somebody giving up the best part of a week to come and collect a 14 year old bike is lowish. So I've always been more or less reconciled to the fact the engine will probably end up in a Spanish chopper or Girl-ster.

There was a time also when it was very difficult to get any vehicle over 10 years old onto a ferry - maybe still is. Having moved vehicles several times across borders I can tell you first hand that the whole move/de-registration/re-registration process is bloody expensive and far more than folk expect. I've always had the cost paid for by somebody else. But storage especially is a real PITA.

Yes, but you're failing to take into account the gullibility effect.
