In the wanted section PhilG appeared and is asking for a Buell , the Ebay advert looks like his. He bleated that It was OK to ask "no ID needed" as it was for parts only. Scrotes that steal bikes would steal them and sell off the parts and dump the bits with numbers on . Nick`s bike never surfaced again hope this one does.

The Bike was stolen by a gang from Brinnington Stockport. It's in one of their lock ups. The police arrested them, opened 5 lock ups with a load of stolen stuff in them including some of ours but can't get a warrant for the other 20! Any ideas? Some of them might be legit and have lawful goods in them so unless I can get a friendly magistrate to issue a warrant?

Why?! If that's not sufficient grounds to obtain a warrant to search the other lock-ups, then I don't know what is. Sounds like the police are working with one hand tied behind their backs by the courts.

Why can't the lockups be found open?

The problem is the Police need some new information from someone else about the lock ups dated after 30th January. They can then apply for a new warrant. I guess they could just be opened but not nice for the people that had legit stuff like there own bike (not likely where they are).
Now if the Police got a few calls?

Just so every one can avoid the area, not see anyone messing with a stolen Buell, trying to conceal it and therefore feel they should report it as they had seen something on the Buell site.

The lock ups are Down an entrance between houses off Northumberland road opposite the car park entrance at the rear Of Hollow End Towers. Shows up well on Google Earth. Has a triangle shape 'Yard' with a lamp post in the middle. 3 blocks of garages. They might have been in and out of all three blocks somewhere near the middle of each. Never know who might be keeping an eye out with all the internet activity.

Seems the police might get a warrant for a few either side if anyone was seen. Being handled by Cheadle Heath Police Station in Stockport 0161 856 9746.

I really feel for you on this as it happened to me exactly the same in the eighties, my lc was stolen, i found out exactly who nicked it and that he had seven out of twenty lockups in Hyde, police couldn't do anything on my say so and warned me not to, I threatened the thieving bastard loads of times.

I opened all 20 lockups one night with a set of bolt croppers, he literally had hundreds of bikes, couldn't see mine but figured the police would and i reported the breakins, all they did was help him secure his booty :headbang: :headbang:

Feel a bit nervy as that address is 2 miles from my house, you got any names for these people? are they still active or have the police managed to get some evidence?

Andy

[i]They are still very active, big family Wilson. The Police have positive ID on a load of stuff they nicked including 400!! tires from ATS and a vintage Juke Box from us (we even have a piece they broke off). The CPS said they can only do them for receiving unless the forensics from our place comes good. They have foot prints (they have all their shoes) and we might have some DNA but do you think they can be bothered? They are doing 3 or 4 jobs a week and getting away with it. They are big bike thieves so we all need to be aware. Please all feel free and report seeing them as they need new info can't use mine again for a warrant. I will try and get more names and addresses.
Dave
