Looks like we have a fix. ECM spy didn't show any TPS fault but did show O2 sensor fault - disconnected it and changed plugs. Now seems to run fine.

Gonna give it another go when we leave on Thursday and see how it goes.

Thanks for all the offers of help from European buellers and to Maz on the phone. Garry and Ray did the work whilst I watched and offered helpful advice :rotfl:

Huge thanks to Pash who sent all the kit that enabled the fix :worthy: Diamond geezer.

:yup:   :4roz:

Brilliant day on the X1 :yup: She ran like a dream over the mountains and through the snow

Checked ECM Spy when we got here - only showing a rear O2 sensor fault. Fair one seeing as how it's disconnected :)

Spent the day chasing Garry and Debbie through some technical and tight roads. Didn't think we'd be riding through snow on this trip.

I really enjoyed it - when she is running well she is stunning. Doesn't have the pick up and stopping power of a modern bike but she certainly didn't disgrace herself that's for sure :worthy:

Looking forward to tomorrow :D

Clive...... starter is stripped to replace pinion ballrace/seal re. oil leak.....although the slipping/burnt out clutch will have had the trans oil very hot

Beef......when the bike got to me there were no trouble codes stored, TPS was set at 1.3 degrees and AFV was at 135......it's amazing it even started with those numbers  .....reset everything and ran the bike to 180 C whilst watching everything on the pooter, all looked just fine but will obviously have to road test to find the original problem :? ......there is water in the fuel :)

I don't know if it'll help.....when I was looking at ECM spy (before TPS was taken off) I was holding the bike at a constant throttle of around 2800rpm, when it started missing and the revs dropping, I kept the throttle as still as possible yet saw the TPS value rise as if I was opening the throttle further :?: :!: I don't know if this was an ECM spy anomaly or may be helpful for you. (Never looked at ECM spy - never needed to with FUBAR for some reason! ;) )
The clutch issue only happened on the 3rd to last day when Matron was struggling with the missing and stalling around town/junctions etc.

Interesting clamp for the Penske reservoir. I could use something like that instead of a temporary hose clamp. But then I'll really need to relocate my oil cooler and catch can from that side for a cleaner install. Really wish it would've had the short hose like the stock shock so I wouldn't have another hose to look at.

I hope it's not like Muffins problem the other year though where it would run perfect for the first 70 miles every time and then start to play up ;) I had a 100 mile road test route that I used every time I changed anything :D

Wouldn't a 71 mile route have been better? :?
