Or - then again. Mine has done 27K-Kms since 1998 - has had NO recalls done. Does not get HD oil - does not get MAJOR services (As I cant be arsed to spend that much time on it  ) and it runs perfectly.

Sir :maz: did insist I did the primary adjuster - which was necessary - and I do have a good shufty once a month when any gremlins get sorted. And it does :o get regular Turbo Diesel oil changes. Has a chrome filter though :ner:

Whilst I'm certain a good Mazzing would certainly be a benefit - I'm equally sure I would not notice anyway. Basically I treat it as what it is - a nippy HD-Sportster.

Sometimes think one of these would be a good move - but then I'm on happy pills.

2000 M2 could need new isolators, recall shock, speedo-rewire and the odd new gasket. But maybe that's sorted already? If it's a 1999 there are a few more recalls to look into.
Even if you need to spend over 3 k in total to get yourself an up-to-date M2 you still end up with a rather special and very usable bike for not much money.
And although it's not overly pretty you don't need to spend a penny on carbon fibre huggers, mini licence plate, special paint, uranium-look tank-protectors or any other after-market wank to stand out from the crowds: So that's money saved to go towards more essential upgrades :D

My 01 reg / 00 model with all the 01/02 upgrades plus a billet front engine mount has cost me not too much effort and surprising little money over the last 6 years and is running fine at 55k. The first two years before that were a little more costly and "eventful" but hopefully the previous owner has done all that suffering for you already? ;)

Just check what you are after. If you want a bike that does lazy touring with few gear-changes and still powerful enough to keep up with Japanese superbikes on the motorway then a Buell will disappoint in both disciplines. And then it will break soon if you keep trying it anyway
