It might be easiest to move your R/H switchgear inboard a little to accomodate the length of the grip.
It's highly likely that the switchgear is pinned to the bar, so you migh have to drill a new hole in the handlebar.
What I don't understand is that if these are Buell Traction Grips, I would've expected them to be the right length in the first place.
Or have you previosly fitted aftermarket bars?

Kev, that's exactly what im going to try to do, and I have Pro Taper fat bars, the standard bars were to narrow and cramped for my long arms!

Ah.
Sorry Ash, I've just re-read your earlier posts and I can't see anything about trying to move the switchgear.
Or am I just being thicker than normal?

Sometimes bars are dimpled, not drilled.
I don't know what method, if any, your replacement bars utilise, anyway, they are probably aluminium, so it'll be a piece of piss to do.
Try doing it in 3mm walled S/S bars :headbang:

Ash, in the third photo down,
1.What is the internal diameter of that bar end you've got, you're measuring the chord there ;)
2.How deep is the recess?
3. How much does the twistgrip rubber overhang the end of the bars?
4. What is the id of the handlebar at the end? You'll have to take the twist grip off unless you've got an internal vernier.

Mr Myford has a plan more cunning......................

:hehe: I will have a look tomorrow, daylight has gone now. Also need to get a new rawplug, getting one that will allow the screw to pass through the bar end yet be big enough to open up wide enough inside the bar is a challenge

Make a sleeve around the Rawlbolt with a bit of thin ally ( cut from beer can etc).

That should shim it up a bit :yup:

You could also get some washers - just smaller than the hole in the traction grips - put them between the bar end and the rawlplug to pad things out a bit - if you can get a single spacer then that would be even better.

I have a similar problem with my traction grips fouling a set of R & G bar ends - may have to put the original grips back on to get the bar ends to fit properly so that I can use the throttle.
