It's a bit worrying the 'mechanic' thinks that the puck 'o' ring holds hydraulic fluid in

Have a look on yesterdays thread, Jon from B/Bear gave a good guide on how to tell if you've had the update kit rather than original replacement seals; which will leak again lOl

I'm worried now that they will just fit the seals and not the complete kit, as when they done my front brake line recall work, i waited ages for it to arrive and after the work was completed, all that had been done was routed the original line round the outside of the forks, which i beleive was easyer for them as the front wheel was off having the wheel bearing replaced at the same time.

My understanding of the brake line recall is that if the bike hadn't been ridden, (ie was still brand new and the recall being done as part of the pdi) then the original line should be rerouted, if the bike had been used, (which I believe yours had been) then the pipe should be replaced.

The above is only my understanding after a discussion with my local dealer.

The kit cost £222.88 from Jersey HD.

When you take the bike back for repair why not ask to see what it is that they are going to fit and is it OK to watch the work being done ? Then you can at least satisfy yourself that they are fitting the correct parts and they may take a bit more care if you are watching !

Yeah good idea Sportster-Mann. Think ill do that, i did ask if i could keep all the replaced parts but was told they get sent back to Buell as its warrenty work.

Coppersaucepipe, They did however stick on the clear rub sticker on the right fork, however it has since come unstuck  Funny thing is they showed me the new braided line, but when i picked it up i was in a rush and never looked, it wasnt untill i got home and washed the bike a few days later i noticed the line was old and the ends were still corroded :(

Raging, i wasn't going to name and shame as this may just be a bad experience, and not a true reflection on the dealer, i will however say that Silverstone Harley where i bought my bike from have been less than helpful and did not do the things they said they had to my bike.
