I received a letter from Robinsons The Foundry this morning, my local Harley (and therefore Buell) dealer. It says:
"Contrary to recent speculation, Robinsons Foundry will not be closing its doors to customers in September 2010.
However, due to unexpected external business pressures, we have been given the opportunity to reorganise our sales strategy.
As from September 2010 the Harley Davidson side of the business will no longer be franchised here at The Foundry.
These arrangements do not affect the service dept, aftersales dept, Suzuki showroom and Suzuki mail order dept."
So, whipping away the spin, what do you all reckon's going on here then?
At the Foundry they have/had a seperate building/workshop for HD/Buells and another for its other brands. Maybe they are no longer getting the sales or service work anymore for its HD stuff. The last time I was there they were selling HD branded cat bowls and other such stuff

Lets be fair on this. The hard core HD biker do there own thing and does not buy a £20k Glide or (most) take there bike to a dealer for a service past the warranty period. Its not the HOG thing and apart from anything else its not needed. If you cant do a basic service on a HOG yourself then
.
IMO reading between the lines of any situation is like playing Russian roulette with an Automatic. I would say ask them if you have any questions about said letter.
